Accra Academy holds Anniversary Walk

Accra, July 9, GNA - Mr N.A. Adjin-Tettey, former Chairman of the Dansoman Keep Fit Club has advised students not to concentrate only on their books but to also to take active and keen interest in sports so as to be healthy at all times.

Mr Adjin-Tettey gave the advice at the end of a sponsored Walk of Accra Academy in Accra on Saturday.

The 22-kilometre Walk which formed part of activities marking the 75th Anniversary of the school started from the school's campus, through the Cocoa Clinic, TV Africa, Azumah Nelson Sports Complex, Dan's Bar, Orgle's Road and back to the school.

The Walk was on the theme: 93Commitment to Academic Excellence: The way forward for the Accra Academy=94. Mr Adjin-Tettey who is an Old Boy of the school, advised the students to desist from pre-marital sex so as not contract any deadly sexually transmitted diseases. The Walk which lasted for about two hours saw about 100 enthusiastic participants made up old and current students and other well wishers of the school taking part in the event. As part of the celebrations of the anniversary, there would be a float through some principal streets of Accra on Saturday, July 15 to be followed by a Foundation Lecture on July 20. 09 July 06
