Price Waterhouse Golf tees off on Saturday

Accra, July 5, GNA - After the hectic Peugeot Challenge Golf Championship which ended at the Tema Country Golf Course on Sunday, golfers in the Greater Accra Region who could not win any prizes, would have the opportunity to battle each other again for the Price Waterhouse Coopers Golf Championship trophy at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, July 8.

Mr Kwame Saarah-Mensah, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Wednesday, said about 100 golfers from Achimota, Tema, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim Golf Clubs are expected to participate in the One-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition. He said the entry requirement for the competition, which shall be played under the rules of the Royal Ancient Golf Club of Scotland, the World Golf governing body and the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club is Handicap 18 for the Men and Handicap 24 for the Ladies respectively Mike Ezan, President of the Achimota Golf Club, Saarah-Mensah, and a number of veteran golfers had declared their intention to lift the prestigious trophy.

The Tema team to be led by their captain, Kofi Gyau, include Felix Owusu-Adjapong, Paul Nukunu and Kofi Osei. Mr Saarah-Mensah said prizes would be awarded to the 'Longest Drive' on Hole 18 and the 91Nearest to the Pin' on Hole 17.
