Zumdick wants Ghana reunion

Ralf Zumdick has become the latest name to express interest in coaching the senior national team the Black Stars. The German is keen to return to a job he quit in 2003 and has already forward a written interest to the Ghana Football Association, KickOffGhana.com understands. Zumdick took charge of Ghana for the preliminary 2006 World Cup qualifying round victory over Somalia but declined the offer of a two-year contract to return home where he became assistant coach at Hamburg SV.

He has also worked at Borrusia Dortmund since but his name has constantly been linked with a return to the Black Stars.

The GFA has admitted it is having difficulties settling on a new man for the job but even that is unlikely to hand the German the job with Kwesi Nyantekyie determined to land a big name coach.

The GFA chairman has now indicated the football association will have a new man in place by the end of July ahead of Ghana’s friendly international on August 22.
