The Public Relations Officer of Asante Kotoko, Kennedy Boakye-Ansah has revealed that Kotoko coach Kjetil Zachariassen left the team’s hotel after the game against San Pedro without their consent.

Kotoko was eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup play-offs by San Pedro on Sunday. The Ghanaian side lost 2-1 on aggregate in both legs.

The Porcupine Warriors have arrived in Ghana without their coach and there have been reports the coach has been sacked.

According to Kennedy Boakye-Ansah, Kotoko returned to Ghana without the coach because he went missing and was nowhere to be found.

“We went with the coach Zacharrisen to Ivory Coast and we were expecting to return with him to Ghana. But after the game that we all arrived at hotel, we didn’t know of his whereabouts”, he said on Anopa Bosuo Sports on Happy FM.

“We tried to establish contacts with him, but to no avail. We contacted his manager and realized he was communicating with his manager. His wife is an Ivorian and we know he is still in Ivory Coast”.

He further said they have reported the issue to the authorities as they returned to Ghana without the coach.

“We left with him and didn’t return with him to Ghana so we have reported the case to the Police. He has gone AWOL”.
