Young Stars maintain dominance at Cowbell Cycling Tour

Two riders of Young Stars Cycling Club came tops at the sixth stage of the 2012 Cowbell Cycling Tour from Buipe to Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo Region over a distance of 95-kilometres.

Isaac Sackey won the ultimate Yellow Jersey for the second time for the Best by Time award as well as the White Jersey for the youngest cyclist, whilst club-mate Samuel Anim took the Red and Green Jersey for the Best Fighter and Best by Point award respectively to put the club ahead of the 11 competing clubs on the tour.

Die Hard Club also for the second time won the Blue Jersey for the Best Team Award.

The 62 riders went on a hot pace as they made the two hot spots at Gulunkpe and Babato before finishing the race at Kintampo.

The riders continued till Techiman where they made publicity ride through the township.

The second stage of the Tour will be held on Tuesday from Techiman to Kumasi, a distance of 101 kilometres.

The winners of the five jerseys each received cash prizes, trophies and cowbell products.

The Cowbell Tour of Ghana is being organized by the Ghana Cycling Federation with support from Promasidor Ghana Limited, Ministry of Youth and Sports, National Sports Authority (NSA), Bic, TV3, Multimedia Group, Motor Traffic and Transport Unit of the Ghana Police Service amongst others.**
