Reading FC full-back Andy Yiadom is delighted by his maiden goal for the club on Saturday.

The Ghanaian emerged hero of the English Championship clash with Hull City as his strike and an assist helped The Royals to a 3-0 home triumph.

It was his ninth league game for the side since a summer transfer from Barnsley.

"I haven’t scored for a while, let alone in Reading colours," Yiadom told his club's official website.

“But it was good to contribute with a goal. I’m pleased with the finish.

“[striker] Sam Baldock better watch out! It was good to win, and good to grab a goal.”

The Ghana international also shared excitement by the club's return to winning ways following a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Norwich City.

“It feels good to finally get a home win - 3-0, a great result, a clean sheet. The fans deserved that,” Yiadom said.

“We came back from a poor performance on the whole against Norwich. We gave a reaction – we needed a good reaction, especially here at home.

“The boys really showed a good performance with a lot of energy, and it was great to get the win.

“All around the pitch, we were first to everything. We had a spring in our step and it was a great performance.

“[On the day, we set our standards. We know what we’re good at and how we’ve got to play. Being at home, we needed to give the fans something and we did that.”

Yiadom would be hoping for another exceptional display when Reading play as guests to Brentford on Saturday.
