Yartey Shames Critiques

.... as he dazzles at Stars Camp

Ghanaian midfielder Ishmael Yartey has responded positively to all his critics who thought he could not come back to his prime after he was dropped from Silas Tetteh’s Black Satellite squad that won the 2009 FIFA U20 tournament in Egypt.

The 22-year-old inclusion in Kwesi Appiah’s 30-man squad came as a surprise to many a Ghanaian soccer fan as the GFA seemed to have closed the door on the gifted offensive midfield player who inspired Ghana to the semi finals of the FIFA U17 tournament in Korea.

Yartey who is currently on loan with serviette fc from Benefica caught the attention of the thousands of supporters who trooped to the Accra Sports Stadium to catch glimpse of the Stars as they played a training match against Prampram Stars this morning.

The name Ishmael Yartey kept rolling on the tongue of all those who watched him play as he kept entertaining the fans with his God given talent.

Coach Kwesi Appiah is yet to name his final 23 men for the match against Lesotho at the Baba Yara Stadium next Friday but Ishmael Yartey has already won a selection on the papers of public opinion and if the coach should drop him it will surely spark another flame on the Ghanaian air-waves.
