Black Stars coach Avram Grant has said his major priority is to qualify Ghana to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Grant on Thursday named Portugal-based midfielder Alhassan Wakaso and defender Andy Yiadom of English Championship side Barnsley in his squad for this month's 2018 World Cup qualifier against Egypt in Alexandria.

Ghana will be chasing their first win in Group E of the qualifiers after drawing against Uganda last month.

The former Chelsea boss said he is looking forward to guide Ghana to a fourth successive global showpiece.

“One of the reason that I came here is to understand why from this talent, the achievement is not the same like the talent,” the Israeli told Starr Sports.

“Our target is to do a lot of good things to be on top of the World. I was in the qualification to the World Cup with Israel, even we were a small team, we miss it only with two goals even when we had France, Switzerland and Ireland.”

He added: “Now it’s in Africa and I am in Ghana and that is what I want.”
