Win too much for fan

ACCRA -- A 59-year-old soccer fan died here after Ghana's dramatic 2-1 win over Burkina Faso saw them reach the quarter-finals of the African Nations Cup in Mali, the Ghanaian Times reported.

The paper said Sampson Minta, a security officer, died of excitement after celebrating Wednesday's victory. It quoted eyewitnesses as saying the fan who watched the match with colleagues in the office was depressed when Burkina Faso scored.

The equaliser and winning goal in the final two minutes saw him celebrate all over the premises.

He was later found motionless in a chair and rushed to hospital, but he died. --
