William Amponsah to make Ghana proud at Dubai Marathon

Asante Akyim Marathon challenge winner, William Amponsah, is set to leave the shores of Ghana on Wednesday evening to participate in the Dubai Marathon on Friday.

Amponsah as part of his prize for winning the AAM challenge will pitch his strength against other professionals from Ethiopia, Kenya, Eritrea and other marathon primed countries in the world.

Speaking on Dwidwamu Sports on Agoo Tv on Wednesday, Amponsah expressed his gratitude to Hon Kwadwo Baah Agyemang the organizer and financier for his trip to Dubai.

“I am very grateful to Hon Kwadwo Baah Agyemang for the opportunity given me. This is my first time of competing in any international event and I will make sure I make him and mother Ghana proud”, he stated.

Amponsah without mincing words added that his target is to finish in the top 10 at the Dubai championship.

“My target is to finish in the top 10. I must say my preparation could have been better but I know with the determination and the support shown me by Mr. Agyemang I will not disappoint”, he noted.

The former Swedru Business School student won the maiden edition of the Asante Akyim Marathon (AAM) on April 17,2017. Amponsah finished in the men’s division in a time of 1hr 12mins.

The organizers of the event 2KB Media are set to roll out this year’s edition in the coming days
