Wilfred Osei wants Ref. J.O Lamptey to appeal his FIFA ban

President of Tema Youth Wilfred Osei Kweku Palmer has suggested that Ghanaian referee Joseph Lamptey should file for an appeal to his FIFA life-time ban.

On Tuesday, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided to ban Joseph Odartei Lamptey from taking part in any kind of football-related activity at national and international level for life.

Lamptey was found guilty of breaching the FIFA Disciplinary Code during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifying match between South Africa and Senegal on November 12, 2016.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) immediately banned referee Lamptey for three months after Senegal had lodged a complaint.

And, Palmer who doubles as an Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has expressed his frustration at the decision by the world’s football governing body by claiming that he would have taken the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

But in an interview with Asemps FM, Palmer said "I will fight up to CAS level if I were Ref. Joseph Lamptey with an appeal".
