Managing Director of Hearts of Oak, Gerald Ankrah has stated that his outfit will be strategic in the transfer market adding that the club will not sign more than 6 players ahead of the new season.

The Accra giants have been without a major silverware for the past 6 seasons and the just ended First Capital Plus Bank Premier League will be an unforgettable season in the history books of the 20 times league champions after they had to dig deep before escaping the drop zone to finish at the 4th position.

After the season, the Phobians have been linked with host of premier league stars which include Liberty Professionals attacking midfielder, Kennedy Ashia, Wa All Stars duo of Richard Ofori and Maxwell Brako and Berekum Chelsea’s hit-man Kofi Owusu.

However, Hearts of Oak last Tuesday announced the signing of former U-20 World cup winning star Latif Salifu and they have pledged to announce more quality signings in the coming weeks.

But the Managing Director of the club, Gerald Ankrah has stated that his outfit will be very strategic in the transfer market adding they will not go for more than 6 players.

“We do have some good talents but we will do some strategic recruitment. That’s not going to be more than 5-6 players because we need to maintain the cohesion with the old guys,” Ankrah told Accra-based Starr FM.
