We’re unaware of Ghana - Canada friendly – MoYS

The Ministry of Sports has disclosed it has no official knowledge of a friendly between the Black Stars and Canada next week.

The deputy Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah claims the Ghana FA did not officially inform his outfit about the warm-up game ahead of their second qualifying group game to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The four-time African champions will engage the Canucks of Canada on Tuesday in a friendly in the USA.

“We at the ministry were not notified officially by the FA of this friendly game for the senior national team of the state and we have accordingly registered our displeasure officially with the Football Association,” Asamoah told Ultimate 106.9FM in Kumasi.

He added: “I can imagine how the media would have dealt with the ministry if it had been the other way round.”

The Black Stars are expected to assemble in camp in Washington ahead of the friendly against Canada.
