Ghanaian midfielder, Frederick Ansah Botchway believes the Black Stars still possess the quality to compete at the highest level and make it to the kickout stage of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanaweb, Botchway expressed strong belief in the team’s setup, insisting that consistency and proper execution will be key to unlocking their full potential.

“Yeah, we can. We can. We have a good setup that when we do things right, I believe that we’ll get there,” he said.

The midfielder acknowledged that while Ghana has often fallen short of its ultimate targets in major tournaments, the team has consistently shown glimpses of brilliance particularly on the global stage.

Referencing performances at the FIFA World Cup, Botchway noted that Ghana’s displays have frequently reflected promise, even when results have not gone their way.

“Ghana is one country that has been doing so much well when we go to the World Cup. Even though we don’t get to where we want to get to, we see ourselves doing some magic, doing something good. We look very promising here,” he added.
