We are here to win - Kariobangi Sharks warn Kotoko

Chairman of Kariobangi Sharks Robert Maoga has stated emphatically that his outfit will beat Asante Kotoko in the second of their CAF Confederation Cup clash.

The Kenyan side would only need to record a scoring draw to progress to the next stage of the competition when they engage the Porcupine Warriors in the return encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday.

According to the Sharks chairman, they will finish off the business in front of the Kumasi crowd though many view his side as underdogs going into the game.

"What I need you people to know is that, we have come here to win," Mr. Maoga told Oyerepa FM.

"You saw Asante Kotoko celebrated with the draw, that's not what we want, we want to go as far as we can so we are here to compete."

Kotoko officials complained of poor reception from the Kenyan side when both teams played the first leg last week. An uncomfortable bus and a substandard training pitch were among the issues raised.

But Mr. Maoga says he is delighted with the reception they have received from their opponents.

"Definitely your (Kotoko) bus is better, you have an advanced economy, we do not have such buses in Nairobi so we are really happy with what we have seen."

The much-anticipated clash is expected to kickoff at 3:30pm
