Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta seemingly ignored a fan who requested for an autograph after their emphatic 4-0 FA Cup win against Wigan Athletic on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
Following the game, the Spanish manager sat in his vehicle cradling a baby as a woman thought to be his wife drove, when a fan came over.
The supporter, holding an Arsenal jersey and a pen, asked the coach for an autograph. However, Arteta appeared indifferent, as he was engaged in conversation at the time.
The fan remained persistent and was heard pleading, “Please sign this, please, please it is for my son. Can you sign the Arsenal jersey? My son loves this. Please, Arteta, just one signature. I have the pen. Mikel, please sign. Just one signature, Mikel, please my son loves you so much.”

Despite the fan’s persistence, Arteta gave him a brief look before winding up the window and leaving.
The coach’s action has been condemned by football fans, who criticised him as arrogant for refusing to sign an autograph, something widely considered a norm in football.
After the encounter, the supporter looked visibly disappointed, and Arteta has yet to comment on the incident.

Arteta looked over, said nothing, got in, and drove away without signing. 🤦♂️
