Leicester City players celebrated Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku in their locker room after he scored a hat-trick in the club's win over Southampton on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
In a video sighted by GhanaWeb, Fatawu Issahaku got ambushed by his teammates immediately he entered the dressing room. Amid loud cheers and champagne-popping the players celebrated what was an important night in the history of Leicester City as they took a giant step towards a return to the Premier League.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku scored thrice in the game on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, as his side whipped Southampton 5-0 in the Championship.
He opened the scoring with a strike from inside the penalty box in the 25th minute. Nigerian midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi doubled the lead in the second half before Fatawu scored a cracking goal to give Leicester a 3-0 lead.
Issahaku turned a provider as he set up Jamie Vardy to make it four on the 79th-minute mark.
The Sporting CP loanee completed his hattrick in the 81st minute when he scored from close range to seal the 5-0 win for Leicester City.
Following the hat-trick and assist, he has now taken his tally to 7 goals and 11 assists in 41 games in all competitions.
