There was a moment of magic in Austria as the Ghana national football team preparations came alive on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, and it came from one man; Fatawu Issahaku.
During a lively training session at the Vienna Football Campus, the young winger produced a piece of brilliance that instantly caught the attention of teammates and staff alike.
The ball was driven into him at pace, but what followed was pure technique.
With a clever first touch using the back of his foot, Fatawu controlled the pass effortlessly, setting himself up in one smooth motion.

Before anyone could react, he unleashed a powerful half-volley that rocketed past goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi and into the net.
It was the kind of goal that stops training, the kind that reminds everyone of the quality in the squad; a golazo (a beautiful goal).
The session formed part of Ghana’s build-up ahead of international friendlies against Austria and Germany, later in March 2026, as the Black Stars fine-tune preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
With players like Thomas Partey and Jordan Ayew in camp, competition is high and this could be a glimpse of what’s to come.
