Wasiru sets sights on world title after Japhet victory

Ghana's bantamweight boxer, Wasiru ‘Gyatabi’ Mohammed has set his sight on becoming a world champion following his latest victory over Tanzanian boxer Loren Japhet.

The boxer, last Saturday went on a rampage dropping his opponent twice before the referee eventually ended the fight in the 11th round to crown him Africa’s king Africa in the Super Bantamweight division.

The victory extended his impressive record to 11 fights with no defeat or draw and the 22-year-old believes the time has arrived for him to take his craft to the world.

"My time is now, I am now ready for the world title and ready to face anyone in the world in my division,” he stated.

He was backed by his trainer who is of the conviction that Wasiru is prepared to take on anyone in his weight class.

“His time is now, and is ready for the world title and ready to face anyone in the world in his division.

"Wasiru is ready to devour whoever comes his way. He is focus and determined to be the world champion this time".

Wasiru is ranked 13th by the WBO and is now in a great position for world title bout.
