Warriors pitch strength against Queens

Accra, July 28, GNA - The Under-12 side of Volta Warriors Soccer Academy will on Sunday, August 1, test their strength against the all conquering Black Queens of Ghana in a friendly match at the Akomsombo Stadium.

The match is aimed at giving the Queens the needed tests are they prepare towards the Africa Women Championship in South Africa later in the year.

According to Mr Johnny Orlando, Technical Director of the Academy, his boys are poised to give the Queens a real battle on Sunday to announce their present status and also to prove to Ghanaians that the victory of the Queens over the Guineans was no fluke.

He said the match is also to promote the image of the academy as well as showcase the present sparkling form of the Queens to the sporting public in the other parts of the country.

Mr Orlando stated that his side would rely on the likes of Captain Andrew Kuvena, Lalas Tetteh, Ali Mohamed and Joseph Esso to put the ball behind agile goalkeeper Memunatu Suleimana.

The match would have a giant trophy at stake and will attract a flat rate of 5000 cedis.
