Wakaso robbed in Tamale

Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has been attacked by people suspected to be armed robbers in his hometown of Tamale in the Northern Region, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
This occurred during a heavy downpour on Friday night July 5, 2013 on the main Choggu Road in Tamale when the midfielder was on his way home after dropping off a friend with his plush Cadillac Escalade SUV.
Wakaso, who is on the off-season La Liga break in Tamale, was in the driving seat of the car during the attack, but report says nothing tragic happened to Espanyol player.
However, the armed robbers reportedly smashed the screens of the car, but could not make away with any valuables as he managed to outwit them.
It is not clear whether the case has been reported to the Tamale Police to start investigations into the robbery incident since attempts to speak to him proved futile.
The attack on the Ghana International has raised serious security concerns in Tamale especially as the down to earth star always spend every holiday in his homeland.
According to some Tamale residents, Wakaso should beef up his personal security to prevent future occurrence of such an incident.
Many are of the view that this attack might not be an ordinary armed robbery incident, but could be the machinations of people who habours ill motives towards the midfielder.
It is, however, not clear why some individuals should indulge in such negative acts to harm the football star.
Wakaso emerged one of the star performers for Ghana at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations where he finished the competition as joint-top scorer.
The 22-year-old and father of two picked up two awards at the second edition of the Guinness National Player Awards held at the State Banquet Hall on Friday.
He emerged winner in the Top Scorer and the Most Valuable Player category in the Black Stars Division.
