Wa celebrates Black Stars qualification

Wa, June 24, GNA - People in the Wa Municipality on Wednesday night jubilated in droves over the qualification of the Black Stars, to the next stage of the FIFA World Cup Tournament in South Africa.

Jubilant supporters of the National team were heard on top of their voices shouting: "God is great and wonderful to Ghana."

Some unruly people also stripped themselves naked out of excitement. Mr Ibrahim Musah, a motor mechanic told the GNA Sports that God had made it possible for the Black Stars to qualify for the next stage of the competition.

"I am happy that God has made it possible for Ghana to stay in the competition," he stressed.

Some people also exhibited their joy by visiting some popular drinking spots to celebrate the triumph of the Black Stars. "This is a day all sadness, worries and frustrations should give way to joy and happiness," Madam Gladys Mensa, a trader said. She said she was disturbed when Ghana lost to Germany but her sadnes s turned to joy when she later heard that Ghana had won on technical point. "This is a day that all shall remember in the history of Ghana's participation in the World Cup competition," she said.
