The Black Queens of Ghana have been told to wait till Monday before they can leave for the WAFU Zone B Championship in Ivory Coast.

The technical team were hoping to leave the country on Sunday to at least get three days to prepare for their opener against Mali.

But according to reports reaching Footballmadeinghana.com, the Black Queens have been told to wait till Monday before they leave for Ivory Coast despite being on schedule to play their first game on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.

Head Coach Mercy Tagoe has camped the Ladies in Cape Coast for the past three weeks where they have been engaging in a series of friendly games against some locals clubs.

The tournament is set to kick off from May 8, 2019 to May 18th 2919.

Ghana have been drawn in Group B alongside with Mali, Nigeria, and Guinea, whilst the host nation Cote d’Ivoire is scheduled to play in Group A, alongside Benin and Senegal.

The Black Queens made history by winning the maiden edition of the WAFU Zone B Women’s tournament in 2018 after beating hosts Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 in the final.
