The Ghana Chapter of the World Amateur Bodybuilding Association (WABBA) on Saturday, engaged some athletes in an interactive session at the Bondsquare Gymnasium at Adentan Barrier in Accra.

The meeting mainly focused on addressing the grievances in the sports saw some executive of the associations explained, clarified and deliberated on pertinent issues that will help the sports thrive considering the various challenges that confronts them.

The President of WABBA Ghana, Mr. Victor Baiden, in his address stated the main objective of joining WABBA International which is the mother body based in the UK, as a means of giving its athletes the chance of competing and winning laurels for the country considering the highly competitive nature of the International Bodybuilding Federations (IBBF) competitions.

Mr. Baiden further highlighted the challenges that confronts Ghanaian bodybuilding athletes as they unable to improve on their abilities which can make them highly competitive in international competitions.

Speaking at the event, Patron of WABBA Ghana, Mr. Isaac Mensah, reiterated the need for athletes to conform to the establish code of conduct of the association in order to presents themselves well both on the local and international stage as well as carefully addressing the plight of local athletes who struggle to move to the top level of bodybuilding.

He further stated the mission of creating a platform for athletes to excel in their respective endeavors as well as transforming the way things are being done in the sports.

The Executives of WABBA Ghana also indicated their intention to partaking in a national cleaning exercise in collaboration with the government in their efforts to create awareness on the need to stay fit and healthy by keeping clean our environment.

Notably, WABBA Ghana will commence their community auditions on March 3, 2017 as they look to identify potential athletes who would compete at the Regional/District level.
