Pretoria (S/A), June 30, GNA - Ghana will go into the next game against Uruguay with the return of three key players after initial fears over their level of fitness.
The Blacks Stars who are at the verge of making history would have central defender Isaac Vorsah returning to form a possible pair alongside John Mensah.
Vorsah has since the game against Serbia sat on the bench due to a hamstring injury but Coach Milovan Rajevac told the press that the defender has realistic chances of returning to the Team. Vorsah whose position was taken over by Jonathan Mensah is expected to bring enough steel in the Stars defence as they go into the historic game on Friday.
Also returning for the game is Kevin Prince Boateng, who sat out of training early this week, after he sustained an injury in the game against United States of America (USA), has since returned to training in preparation for the game against Uruguay.
Coach Rajevac thinks the player is very important to his plans on Friday, saying "Boateng is a very good player, very competitive and will play a vital role in the Team on Friday".
Defender Hans Adu Sarpei will also be available for selection on Friday, after he bowed out of the game against USA due to injury. Adu Sarpei, an influential member of the Team, has also been active at training in the last few days and has seen a massive improvement on his fitness level.
However, the Black Stars will play without influential midfielder Andre Ayew, who has been given a one match suspension by the Federation of International Football (FIFA) after receiving a second yellow card in the competition, in the last game against the USA.
Attempts by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to have the decision overturned proved futile as FIFA dismissed the appeal. The GFA lodged the appeal a day after the game against USA, but FIFA made a quick communication to the local football controlling body indicating that the suspension remains valid and the player would be out of the game against Uruguay.
Stars Coach Milovan Rajevac is expected to make use of other options in the next game, but it is not known whether Sulley Muntari would be given the opportunity to take up the task on the left side of midfield.
