Kuffour To Equal Pele's Record

SAMUEL OSEI Kuffour will equal Abedi Ayew Pele's record of appearing in two UEFA Champions League finals on Wednesday evening.

Kuffour will line up for Bayern Munich of Germany against Spain's Valencia at Milan's San Siro Stadium.

Abedi Ayew Pele, then with Olympique Marseille, figured in successive UEFA Champions League finals in the early 1990's against Red Star of Belgrade, which they lost on penalties, and AC Milan whom they defeated in 1993.

In 1999, with just two minutes remaining in the UEFA Champions League final, English side, Manchester United came back from a goal down to consign Bayern to a heart-breaking 2-1 defeat.

Tonight, Kuffour's Bayern clash with Valencia, who make their second UEFA Champions League appearance in succession following a 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid last year.
