The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya has arrested a 26-year-old university dropout, Seth Mwabe, for allegedly hacking into a betting firm's system for financial gain.

According to the Kenya media outlet NTV, the hacker siphoned approximately KSh 11.4 million, equivalent to over $88,000, during the operation.

Investigators claim Mwabe ran a sophisticated cyber fraud scheme under the guise of working as a cybersecurity consultant, utilising skills gained in that area.

A raid at his residence uncovered a safe, a money-counting machine, and what detectives described as a fully equipped computer lab.
