Unity Oil is considering sponsoring the Ghana Premier League, an official of the oil marketing firm has confirmed.

Cooperate Affairs Manager Alfred Frimpong told Accra-based Class FM: "We are yet to engage some stakeholders and see how things will go and then later present it to management for the way forward.

"It doesn’t mean that we are going to sponsor the Ghana Premier League yet, we are considering it, and it’s up to management to decide whether we go in for it or not."

The Ghana FA has been without a sponsor since Capital Bank (then First Capital Plus Bank) suspended their five-year deal after just two years.

This has had dire consequences on clubs with New Edubiase United threatening to withdraw.
