Travel boss congratulates new GOC Executives

Accra, Oct. 30, GNA - African Origin
Travels and Sports Tourism has congratulated the newly elected officers of
the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC).

A statement
signed by Samson Deen, Chief Executive of the company described the election of
the new officers as victory for Ghana sports.

“I on
behalf of my company wish to congratulate the newly-elected executive board of
the GOC.

“You have
made us all proud and I strongly believe the International Olympic Committee
(IOC) after banning us would now be proud of us.” The Statement noted.
The statement said, the
election has also brought peace to the GOC front and would provide an
opportunity for Ghanaian athletes to prepare adequately for the 2012 Olympic
Games.

The statement added
that the election was an ample testimony that Ghana has come of age in terms of
democracy and alleviates the fear of many who hitherto the elections thought
otherwise.

“It is our hope that
the Professor Francis Dodoo led GOC would steer Ghana sports to another level”.
The Statement added.

The GOC
last Saturday held a marathon elective Congress which saw Professor Dodoo, emerged
the president of the GOC.

Hearts raise 2,554,726 GHC from IPO
Accra, Oct. 31, GNA – Accra Hearts
of Oak Sporting Club Limited has so far raised 2,554,726 GHC from its Initial
Public Offer (IPO) shares which it opened recently.
A statement issued and signed
by Emmanuel Martey Commodore-Mensah, Board Chairman of Hearts in a press
release copied to GNA Sports on Monday said the amount was raised by 35
individuals and organizations.
According to the statement,
Strategic Africa Securities (SAS) Limited holds the highest share of 39.6% with
2,000,00GHC shares followed by Strategic Initiative Limited with 29.40% from
1,505,190GHC.
Frank Nelson Nwokolo, a Board
Member is the third on the list with 7.85 holdings, with 401,785GHC worth of
shares, whilst the Chairman of Council of Patrons, Kwabena Ato Ahwoi has
holdings of 7.77% with 397,900 GHC number of shares.
Other shareholders are; the
Estate of Nana Wereko Ampem II, Kwesi Amisah Arthur, Nii Ayi Bonte II, Emmanuel
Martey Commodore Mensah, Fred Crenstil, Francisca Grace Adzroe, Ernest
Thompson, Kofi Kumado, Emmanuel Kafui Dzamefe, Philip Kojo Addo Addison,
Stephen Bortey Akwetey, Frank Akuley, George Ben Crenstil, Greater Accra
Regional Hearts Chapter, Alhassan Andani, Daniel Amuyaw, Gilbert Kennedy Asmah,
Christian Odamtten Laryea, Samuel Alarbi Alexandria Amoako Mensah, Machistey
Albert Abane and Comfort Obeng.
The rest are Berlinda Amoah, Daniel
Sasu Obeng, Helen Naa Maku Obeng, Egbert Kpakpo Bruce, Kojo Gyan Sackey
Theophilus Joice Taylor, Ekow Dawson-Amoah and Nathaniel Kaafoamedan.
The statement said certificates
would be dispatched to shareholders on November 4, after which over the counter
trading in shares would commence for other interested members.GNA
