Former Hearts of Oak whizkid, Torriq Jibril says he is optimistic of a national call up should he continue in his current blistering form in the Egyptian league.
The midfielder on his debut lasted the full duration of Ismaili’s 2-0 win over El-harby in the Egyptian league last Wednesday night.
As a result of his performance, Torriq was voted as the player of the match after the game by the club’s website, and this has given him the belief that with his current form and consistency, he is likely to earn a call up to the black stars.
In an interview after the game, Torriq said, “We have just started the league but I hope to continue like this by helping my club to win matches and score a lot of goals as well.”
He also added that, “If the coach thinks I deserve the call up after some matches, I will welcome it. I know it will be too early to look for a call up but I hope that if my performance continues like this I can be called”.
Torriq joined the former African champions last summer after falling out with Bursaspor in Turkey.
