Top Slovenian coach Slaviša Stojanovic applies for Ghana job

Highly-rated Slovenian coach Slaviša Stojanovi? has applied for the vacant Ghana job, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 47-year-old, who previously coached the Slovenia national team, has thrown his hat into the race.

Stojanovi? has an impressive coaching résumé having managed several clubs including Sergian giants Red Star Belgrade as well as Belgian outfit Lierse S.K.

He has also managed Slovenian sides Slovan, Livar, Domžale, Celje and served as the assistant coach of United Arab Emirates.

The much-talked about gaffer is highly-rated in Europe after emerging as the youngest coach to win the Slovenia Championship on the double.

He qualified the United Arab Emirates National team to the Asian Cup in 2011.

The former Changchun Yatai trainer has won several individual accolades including being voted best Serbian coach in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2013/14 season.

The experienced and highly-respected coach is credited for identifying talents and grooming them to become super stars.

The Ghana FA has invited applications for the job which became vacant following the departure of former Chelsea coach Avram Grant.

Over 70 coaches have reportedly applied for the top job with large portion of the applications coming in from Europe, including France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Britain, Serbia, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Romania and Greece.

The West African's romance with Eastern European coaches has turn out to be an exciting one as former trainers Ratomir Dujkovic, Milovan Rajevac and Goran Stevanovic chalked decent successes during their stints the four-time African champions.
