President of Bechem United Kingsley Owusu Achaw has asked top officials of the Ghana FA to intervene in the several legal issues causing the delay of the Ghana Premier League.

The GFA is unable to set a date for the commencement of the Ghanaian top flight over lingering legal issues regarding the promotion of two clubs.

The qualification of Dreams FC and Technicam City FC to the Ghana Premier League are being challenged on various front.

Dreams have been accused of using an unqualified player with the player in question – Daniel Gozar duly punished – but the club being left off the hook.

Tema Youth, the other interested party in the case have lodged a complaint at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) as they look to replace Dreams in the Ghana Premier League.

This case is likely to drag for over a month, to cause further delay in the start of the 2015/16 season.

Techiman City FC on the other hand have been accused of bribery with their case yet to be firmly concluded.

But Kingsley Owusu Achaw wants the Ghana FA officials to intervene by convincing parties to find a quick resolution to pave way for the start of the league.

“Nyantakyi must save the situation,” he said.

“The GFA President can gather a number of respectable persons to talk to these clubs. Let’s put ego aside and resolve the matter to save Ghana football.”
