Former Black Stars striker Tony Yeboah has told Pravda Sports 93.5 FM that the Ghana FA must clamp down on the age-long menace of bad officiating in the lower leagues. Yegoala FC, owned by Tony Yeboah, have suffered some poor refereeing decisions despite winning two games so far in the current Division One League campaign.
Tony Yeboah has questioned the quality of officiating in the Division One League. “Officiating is not going well at all. They have to do something about it because all the clubs are complaining. This particular situation of bad officiating can spoil Ghana Football,” a furious Yeboah said.
Barely ten days ago, Yegoala FC thrashed Kessben FC 4-0 to move within two points of their opponents in Zone 2A. But the former national team goal machine insists his team can do more if officiating improves.
He told Pravda Radio in Accra: “We have to go back and see how we are going to treat the referees. We have to get sponsors for them or find another alternative to make them comfortable otherwise there are going to be a lot of problems.”
