Hearts of Oak board chairman Togbe Afede XIV has given his full backing to new coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi to succeed at the club.
The Japanese trainer has been appointed the new substantive coach for the Phobians after signing a two-year deal.
Yatsuhashi takes up the appointment despite being a relatively unknown name in the coaching fraternity.
His appointment has been mocked by several Hearts of Oak fans including former chairman Harry Zakkour who described the new coach as a ‘Toyota engineer’.
But board chairman Togbe Afede XIV says he has more than enough confidence in his new coach to perform beyound expectations as did former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.
“How much coaching experience did Pep Guardiola have before Barcelona appointed him?” Togbe Afede said at the club’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday.
“Not much, not much. But he is now amongst the best coaches in the world and very young as well and every team wants him.
“Every team wants Guardiola. Man City wants him, Chelsea wants him. Every team wants him.”
