Tigo Community Soccer back this Saturday at Ho

The 2012/13 Tigo Community Soccer returns after the Christmas break this Saturday, January 5 at the RT Park in the Volta Regional capital, Ho.

The feast of football played among 16 competing neighborhood teams is back with the 5th in this season’s series after earlier successes in Bukom, Dansoman, Madina (Accra Territory) and Tema.

Ho play host this weekend to the two day fiesta after which Koforidua take their turn next weekend to complete the Eastern Territory with events set to come in other venues cutting across all of Western, Northern and Ashanti territories before the various winners square off in the national finals in Accra later in the year. The champions of each zone are assured of cash prize of five hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢500), a trophy, medals and of course a place in the national finals. 2nd and 3rd placed teams get a consolation of GH¢300 with silver medals and GH¢200 cash respectively.

In the event, Mamprobi, Zamrama Line, Pantang and Site 5 are already waiting in the final after emerging champions of Bukom, Dansoman, Madina and Tema zones respectively.

Using FIFA accredited scouts and Glo Ghana Premier League referees and managers, the communications giants seek to reward the winners with not just the cash, but also teach their community about unity, team building, healthy competition and aspiration to achieve success .

Fans especially women and kids are therefore not left out and lots of side attractions like the Azonto dance challenge will see lots of people also going home with Tigo prizes and souvenirs aplenty.
