Three-match ban for Prince Tagoe

Dubai: The UAE football association's tournament committee (TC) decided to suspend the Al Shabab club's Prince Tagoe for three matches.

The TC also fined him Dh8,000 for rude gesture during his club's match against Fujairah in the league last week, when he caught an opponent player by the neck and pulled him down.

This was the second time that the Ghanaian striker has been sent off in a league match. He was issued marching orders by the referee in their match against Al Wahda in the 15th stage for a rough tackle.

Tagoe was signed in place of Iranian striker Mehrdad Awladi. The latter signed a three-year contract but at the end of last season, he went on a vacation to Iran but couldn't return to Dubai for the obligatory military service in his country.

Al Shabab tried to bring him back but failed. They will return Awladi in the coming season as per the agreement with the Iranians, who have agreed to release him in the coming season.

Al Shabab are currently in the eighth place with only 22 points
