Three big fights that can shake the Bukom Boxing Arena

One of the biggest things that ever happened to Ghana boxing was the fight between Braimah Kamoko also known as “Bukom Banku” and Michael Aryitey also known as “Aryitey Powers”.

For many, that was the moment Ghana boxing saw some form of revival, though the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), failed to capitalize on it to push the sport to another level.

A similar fight that also saw massive coverage, tension, attention and big purse, was the fight between Emmanuel “Game Boy” Tagoe and George “Red Tiger” Ashie. It was a fight that shook the foundation of the Ga Community, which also witnessed one of the bitterest rivalry in the community.

From all indications, there seem to be the taste and craze for some blockbusters on the local scene and already, some form of pairings are going on in the boxing circles.

Should this materialized under the same roof – the Bukom Boxing Arena, then for obvious reasons, the 4,000 seating capacity arena, will definitely be turned “upside down”.

EMMANUEL “GAME BOY” TAGOE VRS RICHARD COMMEY

This is definitely going to be one of the biggest fights ever to be witnessed by boxing fans in the country, taking into consideration their style and track records.

Both boxers are skillful, tactful, apply a lot of technique and above all, very experienced, hence the nation will witness a fight of a lifetime.

Tagoe, (27-1-0), will come into the fight with a number of titles under his waist, with the recent one as International Boxing Organisation (IBO), Lightweight title, whilst Commey (25-2-0), on the other hand, has already taken a shot at the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title and currently holds the World Boxing Council (WBC) Lightweight Silver Title.

A fierce fight is definitely assured on the night.

ISAAC DOGBOE VRS DUKE AKUETEH MICAH

This is definitely going to be a blockbuster. It will be one of the fiercest fights to be witnessed in recent times.

The two boxers have similar styles; tactful, skillful, aggression and hard punchers. These are definitely world title materials, who will come into the fight with a rich track record, coupled with an exciting boxing.

Both boxers have never lost a fight since they turned professionals with Micah, 25, boasting of 20 fights, 18 knockouts, whilst Dogboe, 22, has far fought 16 times, with ten knockouts.

What will make the fight interesting is that the two boxers, are tough talkers and they will provide the media much to feed on when this fight comes eventually comes on.

Perhaps, the only obstacle may be the weight difference between the two boxers. Micah is Bantamweight, whilst Dogboe is two steps away; a Featherweight boxer.

BRAIMAH KAMOKO VRS BASTIE SAMIR

This fight has been on the table for years. It was at the request of Bastie Samir, but Braimah has on all occasions turned down the request. However, the tough talking and hard punching Kamoko popularly known as “Bukom Banku”, has given the clearance for the fight to be organized and August seems to be the deal.

It is definitely an opportunity the United States of America (USA) based boxer has been looking for.

Both boxers are hard and heavy punchers and will definitely provide fans a lot to cheer about.

Kamoko, 37, has fought 29 times, with 22 knockouts without a defeat. Samir, can only boast of 15 fights, with an enviable record of 14 knockouts and one draw.

Relatively, Banku is more experienced than Samir, 29, when it comes to fight records and age.

It’s definitely going to be an open fight where heavy punches will be traded throughout the fight.

The three fights are mouth-watering pairings that will drag every boxing fan out to the Arena on any day.

They are fights that, no boxing fan will like to miss.

However, boxing pundits may not endorse the three fights, as there is a belief that such fights will impact negatively affects the careers of the boxers especially, Tagoe, Commey, Dogboe and Micah.

For many these are world title materials that must be guided to take different paths to world title glories.
