Thomas Partey to leave Arsenal - Fabrizio Romano

Thomas Partey’s tenure as an Arsenal player is over, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who is known for his accurate transfer predictions.

Fabrizio Romano, on the JD Football show on YouTube, confirmed that Arsenal has already identified a replacement for the Ghanaian midfielder.

According to his statement on the show, Arsenal is considering Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz and Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi as replacements for Partey.

"Thomas [Partey] will leave. Arsenal has several players [targets] lined up, so there is a good chance they will bring in a new midfielder," he said on the show.

The future of the 30-year-old at Arsenal has been a hot topic in recent months due to the club's failure to offer him a new contract.

Under Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu Gaspar, Arsenal has adopted a policy of renewing the contracts of their key players before the final season of their current deals.

However, with a year left on his contract, credible reports suggest that Partey has not yet been offered an extension.

The Ghanaian midfielder has been linked with clubs in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Italy, and Barcelona.

It is believed that financially constrained Barcelona views Partey as a suitable match for their style of play and may pursue him this summer.

In the 2023/2024 season, Partey had an injury-plagued campaign, appearing only fourteen times for the Gunners in the Premier League. Of those 14 appearances, he started nine of them.

His performance in the club's last five Premier League matches sparked speculation that he might remain with the club, but Romano, who is usually accurate with transfer news, claims that Partey's time at the Emirates is finished.

Thomas Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 after the club activated his £45 million release clause.
