Black Stars midfielder, Thomas Partey was not present in court during the first official hearing into two new rape charges in the United Kingdom (UK).
The hearing, which took place on March 13, 2026, saw the legal representatives of the Villarreal midfielder present to argue his case, but the player himself was absent.
Reports indicate that Partey joined the session via a Zoom call, though the reason for his physical absence remains unknown.
Thomas Partey faces two new additional charges
During the hearing, the former Arsenal midfielder pleaded not guilty to the charges, maintaining through his lawyers that the allegations are false.
The case on the two new allegations has been postponed to April 10, 2026, as investigations continue.
This comes after Partey was charged with two new counts of rape following his appearance before the Crown Prosecution Service on February 12, 2026.
The additional charges relate to a separate report of non-recent offences in 2020 and a new probe being handled by the Metropolitan Police. It was noted that the allegations were first reported in August 2025.
The earlier offences, which the Villarreal midfielder previously denied in court, allegedly took place in 2021 and 2022 while he was playing for Arsenal.
A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service explained that the fresh charges are separate from the existing five counts of rape.
