Thomas Boakye scores to power Varberg to victory

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Boakye scored the only goal of the game to power Varberg to a narrow 1-0 win over Tenhults in the Swedish Cup on Saturday.

The 22-year-old struck deep into stoppage-time to claim the priceless win which has put the Superettan side third in group 3 of the qualifiers.

A clean ball fell to the Ghanaian inside the box after a goal-mouth scramble and he made no mistake as he cannoned the ball home in the 93rd minute.

The goal gave Varberg their first win in the group but must beat AIK Solna and Falkenberg if they are to go through to the next round of the competition.
