Former Liverpool FC manager, Jürgen Klopp has opened up about the much-discussed relationship between attacking stars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané, admitting that the pair were never close friends during their time together at Anfield.
The duo formed part of one of the most feared forward lines in modern football alongside Roberto Firmino, helping Liverpool dominate both domestically and in Europe.
But Klopp has now revealed that while their partnership on the pitch was outstanding, their personal relationship was more complicated.
Speaking in an interview shared by the BBC, Klopp was candid about the dynamics between the two forwards.

“Were they best friends? No. On the pitch, they supported each other. They fought for each other. They worked hard, and yes, Bobby was the connecting point,” he said.
Klopp explained that Firmino played a crucial role in keeping the attacking trio balanced, both tactically and emotionally within the team structure.
The German coach also reflected on how the famous front three came together over time, praising the club’s recruitment.
“Bobby was already there when I arrived. A year later, we brought in Sadio. A year later, we brought in Mo. They were three of the best signings in the history of football,” he added.
Despite occasional tensions that surfaced during matches, including moments where the two appeared frustrated with each other, the trio delivered extraordinary success for Liverpool, winning the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
