Former Real Madrid captain, Iker Casillas has publicly opposed the possible return of José Mourinho to the Santiago Bernabéu amid growing reports linking the Portuguese coach with the managerial role at the club.
Mourinho has emerged as the leading candidate to take charge of Real Madrid following a disappointing campaign that ended without silverware.
Reports in Spain claim club president Florentino Pérez sees Mourinho as the ideal figure to steady the dressing room and restore discipline after a turbulent season.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United boss previously managed Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup before leaving the club more than a decade ago.

Reacting to the speculation on social media, Casillas made it clear he does not support the idea of Mourinho returning to the Spanish giants.
“I have no problem with Mourinho. He seems like a great professional to me. I don’t want him at Real Madrid. I think other coaches would be better equipped to coach at the club of my life. Personal opinion. Nothing more,” Casillas posted.
Casillas and Mourinho endured a tense relationship during their time together in Madrid, with the legendary goalkeeper eventually losing his starting spot under the Portuguese manager.
No tengo ningún problema con Mourinho. Me parece un gran profesional. No le quiero en el @realmadrid . Creo que otros entrenadores estarían mejor capacitados para entrenar en el club de mi vida. Opinión personal. Nada mas.
