Tetteh sets semis target at NZ WCup

Ghana Under-20 coach Sellas Tetteh has revealed setting a minimum semi-finals target for his team at the 2015 Fifa World Cup.

The biennial competition is scheduled for May 30-June 20 with Ghana housed in Group B alongside powerhouse Argentina, Austria and Panama.

Ghana won bronze at the last edition in Turkey two years ago and Tetteh, who guided the team to the feat as well as the 2009 gold, wants his side to at least progress to the last four in New Zealand first before aiming for the title.

“Our first objective is semifinals, after that we go in for the ultimate,” Tetteh told supersport.com.

“We’re going to work very hard to get into the sem-finals and see how things go.

“I don’t underrate any team, individual player or any group. Any team that has qualified for the World Cup has the potential of winning the trophy, so I will not underrate anybody at all.

”What I will do is not to underrate myself either but I would do very well that the team gets to the top, give a very good account of ourselves and get a respectable results to come back home,”
