King Faisal head coach Mallam Yahaya has dared supporters of Tema Youth to come clean on allegations that his bank account was credited with GH¢ 3,000 before the two teams met in a Glo premier league match over the weekend.
Supporters of Tema Youth descended heavily on the Tema pitch after the game demanding for a refund of the money from Mallam Yahaya. Earlier reports indicated that Yahaya was given the money to throw the game in Tema Youth’s favour.
Speaking to Accra-based Hot FM, Yahaya vehemently denied taking the money from any supporter from Tema Youth, noting that if he had done so, King Faisal would have played it soft in the match itself.
He stressed: “I don’t know anybody and no one has given me that amount of money. Why should I take money from a supporter to play it soft for them? If I indeed took the money I would have played it soft for them to beat us, but that did not materialize.
“They can take me to anywhere they want to take me. Even if it is to FIFA they want to take me I’m ever ready to go and defend myself. I have not seen the Tema Youth Chief Executive Osei Kwaku before. I don’t even know him. When did I come back to this country? I don’t know anybody.”
