Tema Golf Medal on Saturday

Tema, July 27, GNA - The July Medal Championship of Tema Country Golf Club tees off at Tema, on Saturday, July 29.

Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the club who announced this at Tema, on Thursday, said about 100 amateur golfers were expected to participate in the competition, which would serve as trial for the Tema tiGO Open Championship scheduled for August 12 to 13. It is open to amateur golfers from Tema, Achimota, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim Golf Clubs.

Mr Adablanu said the event, which would be played under the rules of St Andrews Golf Club, the World's Golf Governing body, and the local rules of the Tema Country Golf Club, has Handicap 18 and 24 respectively as the entry requirements.

Among an array of golfers expected to be in action included Paul Nukunu, John Francois, S.K. Akakpo and Michael Ben-George, all of Achimota Golf Club.

The Ladies Section would also see the 'Lady Scientific' Florence Etwi-Barimah battling club-mates, Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong, Grace Afriyie and veteran Mona Captan of Achimota. Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, President of the Tema Country Golf Club who is also the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, is the Special Guest of Honour. Tee-Off is at 0800 hours.
