Tamakloe opposes Odotei's appointment as Hearts CEO

Ex-Hearts chief Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe has kicked against the potential appointment of Vincent Sowah Odotei as the club’s Chief Executive.

The capital-based club are in the market looking for a replacement for Fred Crentsil who decided against seeking a fresh mandate following the expiration of his two-year contract.

The ex-King Faisal boss has emerged as the front runner for the vacant position but the former Ghana Football Association Chairman, who is also a major shareholder of the club has opposed any moves to hand over the new job to the ambitious football administrator.

“I will not personally accept that. If the others will do it I don’t know,” Tamakloe said

“But I don’t think any of my other colleagues will consider him.

“The new person should be someone who is competent to handle or run the club properly for us.

“If we get somebody who is a Hearts of Oak man, we will very happy. As I said, competence and the ability to handle the club is what we’re going to look for.”

Odotei had a bittersweet experience when he was appointed in an interim capacity in 2008, but was pushed out after only three months.
