Takoradi Classy Ladies to health-walk for charity on Saturday

The Classy Ladies Club of Takoradi will this Saturday October 9 undertake a health walk through the principal streets of the Western Regional capital to raise funds for Charity. The 14 km walk will also have the support of other keep fit clubs within Takoradi as well as individuals committed to helping the poor. **

Organisers say the event which will be used to raise funds for the education of children at the Fathers’ Home Orphanage, starts from the Red Cafe Parlour, opposite the Chapel Hill School Junction at 5.30 am and will end at the Takoradi Polytechnic Annex Campus of BU.

According to Adriana Marcus-Kwofie, President of the barely 3-month old Takoradi Ladies Club, the 14 Km walk is the first of many intended projects and programmes to be executed under the association’s bid to better the lives of the needy.

“We have a lot of projects in the pipeline and this health walk is the first. There are plans to organise a Christmas party for orphans and the needy. We also want to build a school to offer education to the poor, so expect a lot more from us,” Madam Marcus-Kwofie told SportsInGhana.com via phone on Tuesday.

Sponsors of the Health Walk include Solmed Ghana Limited, Cal Bank, ETG Limited, GSS Catering, Cann & Sons, Wara, Ocean Rig Ghana and Remote Site Services.
