*WBO Africa Junior Lightweight champion Emmanuel Tagoe a.k.a “Game Boy” says he will not res until he has become aboxing world champion for Ghana. That is why he is taking nothing lightly ahead of his scheduled challenge for the WBO Inter-Continental Jr. Lightweight Championship in Accra on November 6.*

Emmanuel Tagoe a.k.a “Game Boy”, is a WBO world rated # 9 boxer. He is a 21year old younger brother of Joe “Bobby Short” Tagoe a former Black Star's and Accra Hearts of Oak player, a nephew of Marvellous Nana Yaw Konadu- a former three-time world champion.

Tagoe is a WBO Africa Jr. Lightweight Champion- a Title he annexed just after a week notice when fellow Ghanaian boxer, George "Red Tiger" Ashie pulled out due to African Boxing Union (ABU) threatened of striping him (George Ashie) of his ABU Title if fought for the WBO Africa Title. Tagoe won unanimously over South African- Thomas Mokwana.

Tagoe defended his WBO Africa Title successfully with a first round knock-out over Samuel Kamau of Kenya under tutelage of the boxing legend Azumah "Zoom Zoom" Nelson (that was the very first time Azumah Nelsonaccompanied a boxer into a ring in Ghana).

Though a very skilfull boxer from the unset, Tagoe came to the limelight after dethroning Abdul Malik Jabir to became a Ghanaian National Champion on August 12, 2007(in a fight in which the former was the much favored by most.)

Tagoe has fought 18, 17 wins with 8 by way of knock-out with only 1 loss ( a loss after only seven months of learning boxing to fight Lante Addy- a national amateur fighter who had come from commonwealth games to turn pro in 2002).

Tagoe in his World title bid will on November 6, 2010 fight for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Jr. Lightweight Championship at the Ohene-Djan Stadium, Accra. He was initially billed to fight Vicente Martin Rodriguez from Argentina - a WBO world ranked # 7 and WBC world ranked 10th in the Jr. Lightweight division, but due to high purse demanded by Rodriguez camp, Tagoe will fight a replacement boxer (probably from UK) whose name is to be announced later.

Tagoe will be rated among the top 5 if wins the Inter-Continental on November 6, 2010 increasing his chances to become a mandatory challenger to the WBO world title anytime soon.
