TUC salutes Black Stars

Accra, June 19, GNA 96 The Trade Union Congress (TUC) of Ghana has sent a congratulatory message to the Black Stars for their sterling performance against the Czech Republic in their second match of the 2006 World Cup.

A statement signed by Mr Kwesi Adu-Amankwah, Secretary-General of TUC said, "It is inspiring for the whole nation and indeed Africa that the Black Stars are raising high the flag of Ghana and the image of the continent as a whole."

Mr Adu-Amankwah said, the victory spread all over the continent quoting a statement from his colleague, the General Secretary of South Africa Trade Union (COSATU) 93VIVA our continent VIVA our Ghana, what a relief that someone would stand up to defend our dignity as Africans.=94 The Statement said the entire family of Ghanaian workers and Africa would continue to stand behind them as they shine for Ghana and Africa.
