"In particular, we are thrilled by the dexterity with which the Stars disposed of the Atlas Lions of Morocco, which ensured Ghana's qualification. That victory was as important for the national psyche and the fact that it came sweet added to its significance". The statement said it was the hope that the unity would be carried forward especially "as we prepare for the crucial Elections in December" which should be considered as a national project to advance the development of the country.

It said: "Even as we support our various political parties we should endeavour to rally round the national flag and put Ghana ahead of all other considerations".

It wished the Stars 'Ayekoo' and urged them to go ahead to realize the dreams as workers of Ghana were solidly behind them.
